From Idea to Paying Hospitals: Our Incubator Journey with KSUM & NSRCEL

We walked into KSUM with an idea and no infrastructure. We walked into NSRCEL with a dental AI and zero paying customers. Here's what happened next.

We're now a grant-winning healthcare startup, backed by both Kerala Startup Mission and NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore (with DailyRounds / Marrow).

We walked into #KSUM with an idea and no infrastructure. We walked out with GPUs, hospital introductions, and a productisation grant that made the building possible.

We walked into #NSRCEL with a dental AI and zero paying customers. We walked out with a deployed emergency CT platform, paying hospitals.

That's what the right incubators do.

More Than Resources — It Was Resistance

But the most valuable thing they gave us wasn't resources. It was resistance. Hard questions. Mentors who told us our problem statement was weak and pushed us to prove why hospitals couldn't just hire one more radiologist instead.

Those strikes hurt. And then they helped.

They pushed us to stop selling AI and start solving a real problem. In India, a radiologist shortage means CT scans sit unread for hours after midnight.

Patients wait. We built VitalView AI for that moment. Not to replace the radiologist, but to have the draft ready when the doctor walks in.

Paying hospitals proved the pain is real — and the willingness to pay is real.

What the Rooms Actually Look Like

Inside the IIM Bangalore NSRCEL Healthcare Incubation Cohort, it's not polished panels or pitch theater. Just intense rooms, hard questions, and founders being pushed to think clearly.

Moments like these remind you that building in healthcare is not about speed alone — it is about precision, responsibility, and long-term impact.

Learning at NSRCEL goes beyond frameworks. A thoughtfully curated panel of real healthcare veterans can genuinely change how founders think.

Grateful for the conversations, the scrutiny, and the discomfort. That is where real companies are shaped.

Selected for NSRCEL's Healthcare Incubation Program

VitalView AI was selected for the Healthcare Incubation Program at NSRCEL, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore — with an 8% acceptance rate.

This wasn't just a program. It was the filter that forced us to build something real.

Thank You

We were fortunate to learn from Rashmi Bansal, Prof. Sunil Handa, and Dr Amrut Sadashiv Kadam — mentors who know when a founder is in love with their product instead of their customer.

Thank you to Aditi Biswas, Gauri Parate, Nishchitha Kashyap, and Gangotri V Naik from NSRCEL; Deepu S Nath from Faya; and Varun Geethamony, Anoop Ambika from KSUM — for believing before there was much to believe in.

We're just getting started.
